| The analysis of genotype and environment interactions in the maize regional trial, knowledge on yield stability of the tested cultivars, and it is of great significance for screening suitable cultivars to plant in the central and south of Hebei province. In this study, An additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) model and a genotype main effect (G) and genotype and environment interaction (GE) (GGE) biplot were used to analyze the related agronomic traits of 13 tested maize cultivars at 10 test sites during the regional trial in Hebei province, including grain yield, ear length, ear row number, baldness and 1000-kernel weight. The results showed that there were significant differences in agronomic traits between genotypes and environments, and there was a significant interaction between genotypes and environment. The yield performances of G7 (Longhua369), G1(J1302) and G6(Hengyu1182) were higher than others．Whereas，cultivars G5(Aoyu698) and G2 (JF33) had the lowest yield performance．The cultivars G6 (Hengyu1182), G1 (J1302), G8 (Quanyu18), G13 (Zhengdan958) and G7 (Longhua369) were more stable than others and G11 (Xinyan218) had lowest stability among all cultivars. According to comprehensive analysis, the cultivars G1 (J1302), G6 (Hengyu 1182) and G7 (Longhua 369) were better in yield performance, stability and adaptability. In conclusion, the combined used of AMMI model and GGE biplot provided more accurate analysis and assessment to provide a theoretical basis for the rational layout of summer maize cultivars in Hebei Province.
