单倍体育种已成为快速选育玉米自交系的主流方法,而优良单倍体诱导系是单倍体育种技术在玉米育种中成功应用的基础。本研究针对温带单倍体诱导系在我国西南及热带地区难以直接利用的现状,利用三个温带玉米单倍体诱导系与一个热带抗病玉米自交系YML146杂交构建选育群体,从中选育含有热带种质的单倍体诱导系。在对选育群体自交六代后,初步筛选出36个诱导率较高、抗病性强、花粉量大的诱导系单株。对36个诱导系进行诱导率测定,结果发现有8个诱导系的诱导率高于对照CAU5,其中诱导系8号和10号的诱导率分别比对照CAU5高出35.28%和67.82%,均达到统计意义上的显著水平;进一步田间诱导试验表明,诱导系8号的诱导率表现稳定、诱导率高、花粉量大,且抗多种玉米病害。作者将其命名为“云诱8号”,并建议在我国热带亚热带玉米育种中加以应用。含热带种质的新诱导系云诱8号的选育,可进一步助力热带、亚热带玉米种质高效创新利用,提高育种效率。

Double haploid breeding has become main breeding method in maize breeding programs, while elite haploid inducers are the very basis for successful double haploid breeding programs. Since temperate inducers are usually not easily applied for tropical maize breeding programs, authors had built a population, by crossing three temperate inducers with a tropical disease resistant line YML146, for selecting haploid inducers with tropical germplasm. After six generations of selfing, 36 inducing lines with high disease resistance, large tassel with abundant pollen, were tested for their inducing rate. The results indicated that eight inducing lines had higher inducing rates than that of the check inducer CAU5. Among these, inducing lines#8 (35.28%) and #10 (67.82%) demonstrated statistically higher inducing rates than that of the check inducer CAU5. Subsequent field testing results indicated that the new inducing lines #8 had maintained stable high inducing rates, produced a large amount of pollen, and exhibited high resistance to various diseases. Authors had thus named the inducing line #8 as “Yunyou 8” as official name and suggested to apply it to maize breeding programs in tropical and sub tropical regions in China. The successful development of “Yunyou 8”, which possess tropical germplasm and adapt well to tropical conditions, establishes a solid foundation for expediting the maize breeding process in Southwest China and other tropical and sub-tropical regions in the country.
